CCS Construction Staffing is actively hiring experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics for an immediate commercial healthcare project in Fayetteville, NC. This position involves installing commercial HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems in an active hospital construction environment. We are seeking dependable mechanics who can read mechanical drawings, perform installations with limited supervision, and help keep their assigned crew productive.

Pay Rate: SM3: $24–$28/hour | SM2: $20–$24/hour

Schedule: 5x8s | 40 Hours Per Week
Start Time: 6:30 AM

SCOPE OF WORK

• Install commercial HVAC ductwork according to mechanical plans and layouts
• Assemble and install duct sections, fittings, transitions, and connections
• Install hangers, supports, and related sheet metal components
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble sheet metal and ductwork accurately
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and layouts
• Coordinate duct installation around plumbing, electrical, and other trades
• Work safely from lifts and elevated work areas
• Maintain quality workmanship appropriate for an active hospital project
• Identify installation issues and communicate with site supervision
• Direct and assist Apprentices/Helpers as assigned
• Keep assigned Helpers productive throughout the workday
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial sheet metal/HVAC experience
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and layouts
• Commercial ductwork installation experience
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Ability to effectively direct and work alongside an Apprentice/Helper
• Must complete ladder and fall protection safety training (CCS will provide)
• Lift and fall-protection certifications required as applicable
• Must be able to safely work from lifts and elevated areas
• Must pass a 9-panel drug screen
• Must complete required Cape Fear jobsite orientation, including a short video
• Effective communication with site supervision and other trades
• Reliable transportation
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Spanish-speaking candidates must have a reliable bilingual communication option available
