CCS Construction Staffing is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager for a major project in Tempe, AZ. This role is responsible for overseeing complex construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Project Manager provides leadership to project teams, drives customer satisfaction, manages financial performance, and ensures alignment with organizational goals and operational processes. This position requires the ability to manage multiple large-scale HVAC and Plumbing projects valued at $1M+, perform jobsite visits, collaborate with installation teams, and consistently deliver high-quality results.

Work Scope:
The Commercial Construction Project Manager will oversee HVAC and Plumbing construction projects in Tempe, AZ, ensuring successful planning, coordination, execution, and turnover. This role serves as a key decision-maker, mentor, and problem-solver for project teams while maintaining safety, productivity, and profitability.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Leadership & Execution
• Oversee all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, execution, and turnover.
• Develop detailed project schedules with milestones, manpower plans, and resource allocation.
• Lead pre-construction meetings and ensure accurate project start-up documentation.
• Monitor field progress and proactively address delays, risks, and conflicts.
• Ensure all work meets design specifications, quality standards, and code compliance.

Financial Management
• Establish and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Review and approve vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and change orders.
• Conduct monthly project financial reviews and report profitability status to leadership.
• Reduce project overruns through detailed planning, risk assessment, and proactive corrective actions.
• Ensure accurate documentation for billing, estimates, and cost tracking.

Client & Stakeholder Communication
• Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Conduct regular project meetings and deliver progress updates.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Resolve disputes professionally and promptly.

Team Management & Development
• Provide direction, oversight, and mentorship to Project Engineers, Coordinators, Foremen, and Field Staff.
• Participate in performance reviews, coaching conversations, and development planning.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and adherence to company standards.
• Ensure all team members understand project goals, timelines, and safety protocols.

Safety, Compliance & Quality Control
• Enforce company safety programs, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety plans.
• Conduct jobsite inspections to ensure safety compliance and risk mitigation.
• Oversee quality assurance efforts and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure all required permits and certifications are obtained.

Contract & Risk Management
• Review contract documents, scopes of work, and project specifications.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies early in the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and negotiate change orders, RFI responses, and submittals.
• Ensure subcontractors meet contractual requirements, performance standards, and schedule commitments.

Reporting & Documentation
• Maintain accurate and timely project documentation, including daily logs, meeting minutes, change orders, RFIs, and closeout binders.
• Provide weekly and monthly reporting to senior leadership regarding schedule, budget, risks, and milestones.
• Ensure all documentation is compliant with company policies and audit requirements.


Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in Commercial Construction
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Proficiency in project management tools and construction software
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple large-scale mechanical projects simultaneously
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of construction cost management
