Overview:CCS Construction Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foreman Combo Pipefitter to lead a pipefitting team on a large commercial construction project. This is a temp-to-permanent hire position offering long-term work with a reputable construction company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pipefitting & welding, including leadership responsibilities, and a strong commitment to safety and quality craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate a team of pipefitters, apprentices, and helpers on-site.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor work progress, and ensure work is completed safely and on schedule.
- Serve as the main point of contact between the project manager, client, and pipefitting team.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to junior staff and apprentices.
- Quality Control & Safety:
- Ensure all pipefitting & welding work meets code and regulatory standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Oversee the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems.
- Enforce safety protocols, ensuring that all team members are equipped with proper PPE and working within a safe environment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safety procedures.
- Project Management:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute work.
- Manage work schedules and resources to ensure that all tasks are completed within the given timeline and budget.
- Ensure materials are ordered and available on time, managing inventory to avoid delays.
- Communicate daily progress and challenges to project managers, recommending solutions when necessary.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
- Inspect completed pipefitting & pipe welding work for accuracy and quality.
- Troubleshoot any issues or obstacles that may arise on-site, providing solutions to keep the project moving forward.
- Review work processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Collaboration & Reporting:
- Collaborate with other trades and foremen to ensure coordinated work processes and avoid delays.
- Ensure proper documentation of work completed, including time tracking, safety audits, and inspections.
- Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and quality control.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Pipefitter & Welder with at least 2 years in a Foreman role in a commercial construction setting.
- 6G Certification
- Ability to lead and manage a team of a minimum of 15 pipefitters and apprentices effectively.
- Strong understanding of pipefitting systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ability to perform all pipefitting duties, including layout, cutting, threading, and joining pipes.
- OSHA 10 or higher certification preferred.
- Must pass a drug test, background check, motor vehicle record check, and sex offender check.
- Must have reliable transportation, own hand tools, and a valid driver’s license.
