Work Scope
Pipe Fitters will be working with Schedule 40 steel welded pipe and fittings, fabricating and installing piping systems from drawings on a commercial project in Cheraw, SC.

Duties include:

• Fitting and fabricating 40 steel weld pipe and fittings

• Reading drawings, taking measurements, and fabricating pipe accordingly

• Performing layout, fit-up, and installation per drawings and specs

• Working independently from prints with minimal supervision

STEEL PIPEFITTER MUST HAVE

• Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical prints

• Strong understanding of pipe schedules (SCH 10, 40, 80, etc.)

• Ability to identify materials: carbon steel, stainless, and alloys

• Experience calculating offsets, rolling offsets, and takeoffs

• Understanding of elevations, slopes, and tolerances

• Knowledge of process piping vs. mechanical piping

• Experience with systems including:

  • Steam and condensate

  • Chilled water and hydronic systems

  • Compressed air and gas lines

• Understanding of pressure ratings, flow direction, and valve types

• Knowledge of expansion joints, hangers, and supports

• Familiarity with codes and standards:

  • ASME B31

  • AWS welding basics

  • OSHA safety requirements

Commercial Steel Pipe Fitter Requirements

• Strong commercial steel pipefitting experience required

• Ability to fabricate directly from drawings

• Hospital or healthcare project experience a big plus

• Must bring all required pipefitting hand tools

• Must have ALL PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, work boots)

• Must be able to pass any required background checks or drug screenings

• Reliable transportation required

• Professional attitude and strong work ethic
