Work Scope:
The Commercial Plumber Project Manager will oversee all phases of plumbing construction projects in Tempe, AZ, ensuring successful planning, execution, financial performance, and team leadership.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Leadership & Planning
• Lead all phases of plumbing projects, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, staffing, installation, inspections, and closeout.
• Develop detailed project work plans, manpower projections, material lists, long-lead schedules, and risk assessments.
• Oversee pre-construction planning, including constructability reviews, BIM coordination, value-engineering opportunities, and system layout recommendations.
• Conduct jobsite kickoff meetings with Foremen, Safety Manager, and General Contractor teams.

Financial Oversight & Cost Control
• Establish project budgets, cost codes, and forecasting documentation.
• Monitor job costs, labor productivity, equipment usage, and subcontractor costs.
• Track change orders, develop pricing, negotiate with clients, and ensure timely submission of documentation.
• Drive profitability by reducing rework, managing delays, improving material management, and implementing cost-saving strategies.

Field Coordination & Execution
• Provide hands-on direction to field crews, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure work meets plans, specs, and quality standards.
• Ensure accurate installation of plumbing systems including piping, hydronics, water heaters, boilers, pumps, fixtures, and valves.
• Collaborate with field teams on problem-solving, design clarifications, and material procurement needs.
• Conduct routine job walks and performance audits; verify all work meets code and inspection requirements.

Client, Vendor & GC Relations
• Serve as primary client contact for scheduling, updates, changes, and issue resolution.
• Build strong working relationships with GCs, inspectors, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Attend coordination meetings, OAC meetings, design-assist sessions, and inspection walk-throughs.
• Maintain proactive, professional communication to support customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain complete, organized project documentation including RFIs, submittals, material releases, PO tracking, daily field reports, red-lines, and change logs.
• Prepare weekly progress updates for leadership outlining milestones, risks, and resource needs.
• Complete monthly cost-to-complete reports, forecasting, and billing packages with required backup.

Safety, Compliance & Quality Control
• Partner with Safety Manager to develop site-specific safety plans, JHAs, and hazard analysis documentation.
• Ensure field teams follow OSHA standards, site rules, and company safety procedures.
• Review QC checklists, pressure tests, inspection reports, and commissioning documents.
• Lead post-installation reviews to identify lessons learned and future process improvements.

Leadership, Mentorship & Team Development
• Mentor and develop Assistant PMs, Project Engineers, Foremen, and Coordinators.
• Provide coaching on project planning, scheduling, communication, and financial management.
• Support onboarding, technical training, and leadership development for the project team.
• Model professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and core company values.


Project Manager Requirements:
• Extensive commercial plumbing project management experience
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems, construction processes, scheduling, and budgeting
• Ability to lead teams, manage large-scale mechanical projects, and communicate professionally
• Must pass any required background checks or drug screenings
• Must have reliable transportation
