Work Scope

HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanics will be responsible for full-cycle commercial HVAC installation, including sheet metal and copper work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assembling, fabricating, and installing HVAC duct systems

• Installing air handling equipment, control boxes, vents, grills, louvers, and hoods

• Running copper line sets for HVAC systems

• Performing copper brazing, soldering, and forming to spec

• Laying out equipment directly from mechanical prints

• Making field fittings and adjustments as required

• Mentoring and guiding sheet metal apprentices on safe, quality work

• Coordinating tasks with foreman and site leadership

• Maintaining safety compliance and jobsite documentation

• Using hand tools, power tools, and metal-forming equipment safely

Requirements

• 5–6+ years of commercial HVAC sheet metal experience

• Journeyman-level experience required (license preferred but not mandatory)

• No helpers – experienced mechanics only

• Proven experience running copper line sets for HVAC

• Proficient in copper brazing, soldering, and forming

• Strong sheet metal fabrication skills (cutting, bending, shaping, assembling)

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical details

• Comfortable performing basic math and precise measurements

• Ability to identify materials by size, shape, and function

• Fluent in English or bilingual (English/Spanish)

• Reliable transportation
